Molecule
The smallest particle of an element or compound that retains all of the characteristics of the element or compound. A molecule is made up of one or more atoms. Oxygen molecules (O2) have two atoms per molecule; Ozone (O3) have three atoms. Molecules found in chemical compounds often have many atoms of various kinds.
